FALL 2008 International Studies
Approved Courses
Below you will find lists of courses which are offered in Fall 2008 which you may use to fulfill your GLOBAL STUDIES, your AREA STUDIES and your Professional, Technical or Scientific (PTS) CORE requirements for your major. Please note the following:
- (*) Courses marked with an asterisk (*) are approved for this semester only. These are courses that are not on the official approved course lists, but which may fit into your specific Area Studies or PTS Core concentrations.
- Because a course appears on this list (particularly for PTS Core) does not mean that it is automatically pre-approved for your specific plan of study. It is your responsibility to check on all courses with your advisor to ensure that the courses fulfill the requirements that they need to be fulfilling.
- Limited I.S. Reserved Seats (R): We have been able to reserve a limited number of seats in some HISTORY, SOCIOLOGY and POLITICAL SCIENCE courses for International Studies majors. These departments restrict their courses during early registration to their own majors. We are unable to reserve seats in courses which are not major restricted (for example, Anthropology and Geography do not restrict courses.) Please be sure to check your registration time and date so that you are able to register as soon as possible to ensure the most access to courses. Courses in which there are reserved seats for I.S. majors are marked with at (R).(NOTE: I.S. reserved seats are available for first majors only.)
- SPANISH: International Studies students no longer need to request seats in Spanish, as we have been given priority access along with Spanish majors. If I.S. is your first major, you may register for Spanish classes during early registration.
- Please contact your advisor with any questions: contact us.
